Lindsay Lohan Kicks Off Summer With a New Namesake Club

Lindsay Lohan opened a beach club on Mykonos’s Kalo Livadi on Saturday. Or, rather, she lent her name to a beach club on Mykonos’s Kalo Livadi, which she opened with Greek investors who would like to remain nameless. The operation follows Lohan nightclub, the “pro-refugee” club, which she and her former business partner Dennis Papageorgiou opened together in 2016 (Papageorgiou is no longer affiliated), and reportedly arrives ahead of one more beach club on the island of Rhodes, debuting at some undisclosed point in the future.

Lohan is quickly becoming a Greek-nightclub magnate, and that feels good and right—or at least more right than some of the other identities she‘s tried on in recent years, such as a young Gwyneth Paltrow lifestyle guru, or fashion designer. It’s so nice when your favorite stars lean into the brands they were destined for.

Scott Carlsen, Lohan’s loyal publicist-manager, sent over a video advertising the beachfront club. In it, there are many, many women in bikinis, but no Lohan. There are a gaggle of beefy boys wearing hats and pouring champagne, but no Lohan. There’s a remix of that Chainsmokers and Coldplay song and sweeping drone shots, but no Lohan. There are little taglines, like “Forget anything you’ve ever seen” and “Cooking delicious memories,” but no Lohan. Where is Lohan? Seems like a club would want to advertise its namesake.

Carlsen assured me that more Lohan-centric promotional material was on the way. Thank goodness. Give the people what they want, you know—and the people want Lohan, now as ever. He did also include in his original e-mail this 2011 short film featuring the actress. It’s something like a consolation prize while we wait. Here is that, too:

Saturday’s beachfront opening was soft, so interested parties will also have to wait for a report on how it all is. Elsewhere, reviews on TripAdvisor indicate the Lohan nightclub is going well. “The place is a top-notch one and it gets totally crowded to a level where you cannot even raise your hands in the air,” says Maksim B from Belgium. “I guess one of the best clubs in Athens, maybe even number 1,” says Andreea C. “Love the robots performance show!!!” says Sarisoy from Istanbul. Imagine having a Lohan-completist day on one’s next trip to Greece, beginning at the beach club and ending at the robots-performance show.
